This week’s OHW is ‘Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick’ by the late great Ian Dury and his band ‘The Blockheads’. A No.14 hit in Adelaide in 1979 and a worldwide smash. What a wonderful musician he was, and very funny, my favourite lyric “He didn’t paint the Mona Lisa, that was some Italian geezer”
This weeks OHW is The Alan Parsons Project’s 1982 hit ‘Eye in the Sky’ from the album of the same name. This song is an Adelaide OHW reaching #14. My favourite of his many albums.
This week’s OHW is Dennis Waterman’s song ‘I Could be so Good for You (The Theme from Minder)’. a #10 hit in 1983. Loved that show, Arthur Daley and ”er Indoors” 🙂
Ric Ocasek (1944 – 2019), was an American singer, songwriter, musician and record producer. He was co-lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the rock band The Cars. This week’s OHW is ‘Emotion in Motion’, a #7 hit nationally. It is from his second album ‘This Side of Paradise’.
This week’s OHW is those crazy Kiwis with ‘Cruise Control’. An Adelaide OHW #4 (1994) from their brilliant album ‘Body Blow’
Al Stewart. This time just an (Adelaide #9 1976) recorded at Abbey Road under the great Alan Parsons. Brilliant album (same name) do yerself a favor.
Just devastated to hear of the passing of the great Gerry Marsden. It is so sad that that beautiful voice has been silenced. A great entertainer and very funny guy, we will never forget you.
We would love to get some feedback so leave a comment.
What happened to the revolution? The band is actually called ‘Radical Posture’.
